Government/Public Sector - Local/Central Government

The UK Government is committed to an agenda for change. We now see public accountability and consumer demand taking centre stage. This in turn is set to improve public services and upgrade infrastructure in a resourceful way. We have seen the introduction of:-

• Projects being delivered through   PFI/PPP

• The introduction of best value   and its ambiguous meaning to   many government organisations.

• Creation of agencies dedicated to   improving public services.

• More recently the Gershon Review   making Annual Efficiency   Statements (AES) which makes   strategic procurement a key issue   for all LA's.

We now have a local and central government environment which is highly regulated with recent years seeing new and complex legislation being hoisted in most public sectors. The need to work in partnership is becoming a prerequisite to most public sector procured projects. There is also the requirement from central government that the public sector should now work with the private sector to provide the buildings of the future.

Knowles understands these problems and has created a structured approach which captures all the elements of public sector procurement, build and commissioning.

We have worked with many local authorities and housing associations and the Knowles team is dedicated to supporting clients both in the public and private sector. Our team consists of construction professionals who have all worked with public sector clients. We provide an unique insight into the public sector arena and we recognize the difficulties placed on the public sector leading from its fundamental obligation to be publicly accountable.
